how to leave

Recording sounds pretty good. Timing seems a bit clunky though. If they can tighten up they will sound great.

Just wish they'd given me more of a freehand...I would have done some things better. But anyway, as long as they're happy. I don't do this for money anyway.....

Sounds pretty good. The guitars seem a little quiet relative to everything else, especially the lead.

Do you have the lead and backup vocals both mixed towards the right? That's seems a little wierd.

I wouldn't mind a little enunciation on the vox, but that's not really your responsibility, I guess. :D

Actually the voice should be totally in the middle, I didn't pan it anywhere and the kid only sang one track. He didn't want ot double 'cos he thought it sounded "unnatural" (damn beginners!:D) But I think you mean the radio voice in the bridge, that I panned far right (yep, I wanted it to be wierd...!). The lead guitar is panned a little to the left. I tried to fill the stereo field up a bit, because there's actually very little in the song.

Them drums don't sound too good. Very processed and compressed sounding. The snare reverb is too bright. I think a more natural sound would fit better. The bass could use some better definition. It's a bit boomy in the way down lows. The attack is good at the beginning but kind of gets lost as the song gets rolling. The rest sounds okay to me.
 
Hey Greg,

did you listen to the second version or the first? The drums are a bit too compressed, you're right there. But on the second version there's very little reverb. I'll have a look at the bass....still looking for balance in my mixes and I'm miles behind you there! I appreciate your comments!
