Hi,

I have The following gear and I want to know how to hook up the wires properly:

Echo mia 2 (1/4") in 2 out
mackie CFX16 mixing console
Samson resolve 65a studio monitors

I normally use the mackie to record and another console for the earphones, the output of the other console goes to the samson monitors.

to be more visal: Mike---->mackieCFX16---->echo left/right in THEN echo left/right out---->yamaha console----->samson monitors and earphones to musician

There must be a way to use the mackie for both in and out (and sending earphones to the musician/signer)

Thanks for the help

try using the inserts on the back of the mackie. each channel on the mackie should have an insert point. If you use a TS plug instead of a TRS plug and only insert it to the first click, then it will work pretty much like a line out of the mixer. then you can use your main outs to run your monitors. does the mixer not have a headphone jack?
If it were me, id probably use the line outs from the sound card to run the monitors. Are they powered monitors?

They are powered monitors. If I use the out of the soundcard to go directly in the poweredmonitors, the music already in my software won't be heard by the musician/signer...

Another way is to go: Mackie AUX SENDS..>Echo L/R inputs. Then Echo L/R outputs..>2 channels [L/R] Mackie. and Mackie main L/R outputs to Samson monitors.

This might help! ;) http://www.mackie.com/pdf/cfxseries_hu.pdf

I don't know your mixer but you could also put your 1/2 outs from your audio card into the Return from your mackie (assuming it has that).
Then you can run the headphones, the monitors, etc out of your mixer.
The other option is buy a spliter (if you only have a 1/2 out from your card) from your out and run one to the headphones and the other one to the monitors.
Good luck!
