I have an Allen and Heath Zed 12FX hooked up to my UA LA 610mk2 and Shure KSM44 mic. Diagram as follows:
Mic--->UA LA610mk2--->Zed12FX (ch1 line-in) ---------aux1 out of zed12fx--->Steinberg MR816csx (ch3 via trs)
ch7&ch8 of Steinberg MR816csx line out ----->Stereo returns /
Headphone jack is then connected to the Presonus hp60. Will this work?

Try it and see!

The great thing about audio gear is that with a few exceptions (power amp outs) you can connect anything to anything and there will be no damage. Might HUM like cnut might even go instable (so ALWAYS start with faders down and increase s l o w l y...) but it won't smoke.

But, what not K.I.S.S? Run the mic straight into the Steinberg AI for starters and use its headphone out. Then build out a piece at a time from there. I can see why you might want the mic pre in the path (tho' not a lot!) but, excellent tho' it be, WTF do you need the mixer for?

Dave.

Looks like that should work. I certainly like true zero latency, which a DSP input monitor system can approach but never truly be. However, on a practical level bypassing the mixer may be worth living with the small amount of latency from the DSP.
