Daisy is the current alter ego of the guy that used to run under the alter ego "chessrock". Chessrock recently got banned from this BBS for acting the exact opposite of "Daisy", and this is how he's trying to sneak his way back in.

Anyway, the arrangements were perfect and the recording production was top notch in its day. Really, they could get very good recordings on that equipment, as was demonstrated by the Beatles Love thingy they did for Cirque.

Daisy, the answer is simple. First, get Burt Bacharach to write for you. Then get a major label to provide you with top notch engineering and post-production. Let go of that thing about your mother and eat the damned big mac. Then- ignore all the conceited rockers with delusions of grandeur who want to bash your recording because they can't sell a hundred copies of their badly written, recorded, and produced vanity project. Next, collect your Grammy, hire a good accountant to count all of your money, go see your brother's hairdresser (he rocks), and take a trip to the islands.-Richie

If you can't cope with REAL carpenter's music listen to the If I were A Carpenter Compilation so you can come to grips with the fact that the melodies were gorgeous & then listen to their own recordings to hear those meoldies in their natural setting - richly harmonised that is - within a pristine recording of lovely, if overly wholesome & sentimental, arrangements.
I like the idea about the undecoded Dolby effect - I might go retro & try that.
