How to get Pink Floyds Comfortably Numb Bass tone?

Anyone know where to start?

You know the odd sounding bass that sounds like its being squeezed through a horn or something during the clean scarey picking part.

Thanks

Sorry I was mistaken on the song. The song I meant was "Hey You" by Pink Floyd. But Im guessing by your response that you kinda knew what I meant.

Please let me know if it is something different.

that's a fretless
correct..

David Gilmour, Pink Floyd guitarist, played a fretless bass on Hey You.
of course thats not to say it can`t be done on a fretted bass..may sound a bit different on the sides...
anyway, I`m not sure how exactly he got that perticular sound on the bass..I do really like it though..

Ok yeah, that makes sense. I can hear that now. The smooth movement with no fret noise.

Im guessing in addition a peticular setting on a Chorus pedal, or some kind of filter. Maybe a controlled filter with a pedal?

Thanks for the info. Good starting point.
