How to Emulate a 1950s Recording (A Tutorial)

Maybe instead of decades, it would be better to to the styles - so punk, country, ambient, or the zillions of categories. In fact, when you register new recordings the drop down for genre gets bigger and bigger and some categories I've never heard of at all.
