I've got a fairly latrge garage at the bottom of my garden and I'va decided I want my dining room back so I want to use the garage for a studio. I have no problem with the walls and floor but the ceiling is proving a problem. The roof is sloped and covered with an asbestos sheeting. Its weatherproof and I dont intend to do nything with the sheetng so it can stay in situ. I want to build an internal ceiling inside. The main difficulty is that the garage spans over 4 metres by 6 metres. Should I use the existing roof structure to hang a ceiling (I'm a bit worried about the additional weight), or should I support a ceiling from the columns. What should I use to span the distances?
Any help or photographic examples would be very helpfull
Thanks

It really depends on what you intend to do - drywall on resilient channels with rockwool in the cavity will seal you off, BTW asbestos roofing is quieter than gal iron and other roofing.
