Pull down the "Thread Tools" menu in the title bar above the first post in the thread. Select "Delete Thread", and press the "Perform Action" button. (Only the user who started the thread sees this option, and the other "Admin Tools" options.)

Let me know if it works. I've never tried it.

I've tried it when I double posted by accident. It said I wasn't authorized to do it because I wasn't an admin.

Hmmm. I used the "close thread" option once for a thread I had started, and that worked. I wondered whether the other admin options would also work.
