How to connect a compressor to a board..

Hey Guys I am breaking into the recording/mixing field and I have finally bought my own board and a 003 rack.

I am looking to buy a compressor (DBX 266XL) and have it installed on my mixing console (32 channel Allen and Heath Zed-436.)

I am having a problem figuring out how I am going to install this.. The board comes with inserts on each channel and on the master output. I was looking to put the compressor on the master output. I am going more for mixing/mastering setup.

How can this be done with my set up?

You'll need an insert cable, something like... http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Live-Wire-TRSMDual-14-Insert-Cable?sku=330898

The black end goes into the mixer insert jack. Either the board or the documentation that came with it will tell you which (tip or ring) is the send and which is the return. The send will go to the input jack of your compressor. The return will go into the output jack of your compressor.
