Not sure what forum to post in, I'll start here.

I want to add a pair of speakers for referencing mixes etc, not sure how to get that
2nd set connected and operate them seperately. A/B switch? Some other speaker selector?

The 2nd set of speakers are regular PA type speakers.....

Any help will be appreciated...

What gear do you have already?
Some gear (interfaces/mixers/amps) will have this function built in.

You can buy little passive selector boxes for directing one of several inputs to a single output.
I imagine the reverse exists.

If you're handy you could even wire up a switch yourself.

not handy with wiring....haha.

I have a Focusrite Sapphire Pro 14 interface....

Well, that's got four line outputs so you have enough to wire up two pairs of speakers, then you switch between them in your software.

It can be incredibly straight forward or incredibly awkward depending on your daw and the software that comes with the interface (if any).

I don't have personal experience with your interface but with mine i can just switch outputs in the motu/presonus software.

well, it works, but the Sapphire doesn't have enough juice for the PA speakers going direct.

I am guessing I'll have to try Sapphire outputs to {mixer- power amp/PA speakers.....

I will make it work somehow!

Yeah, these are all line outputs, so any passive speakers will need an amp in between them and the interface.
