I have downloaded a couple of free plugins.....I use Cakewalk home studio vs 9 and I really am clueless thus far on how to use these plugins......Any and all help would be very appretiated......Thanx in advance :)

Not sure about HS, as I use Sonar, but hopefully, somewhat similar. Did you unzip them into the vst folder? Then refresh teh plugins folder option? Mine is under tools. Once the program has recognized new plugins, should be pretty straightforward. In Sonar, I right click on teh track I want to use a plugin, audio effects, and it has a vst option, near the bottom. Scroll through the plugins, and fing what you want.
Hope this helps.

Does Home Studio 9 even allow VST plugins?

What plugins did you download. You might be restricted to DX plugins.

Hmmmm

Ok I know this is probably a question that makes you guys really think im a dweeb.......but how can I tell what kind of plug ins I can use.

I think dachay2tnr is right about your program. It might use VST's if you buy teh Vst wrapper. otherwise, it might only use Dx ones. You could go into the program and see if it has a vst folder...In program files, cakewalk etc...
