How to achieve the "shiny chorus" sound

1 main vocal very breathy but choked up on the mic (lips damn near on the pop filter).

EQ all the vocals so that any bass freqs. are gone, but leave more bass in the main vocal than the supporting vocals.

Sounds like a cool project for me to try :)

What mic(s) were you using??

and any tips on EQing that? (What freq's should I be paying extra attention to? -- I never did a whisper track before... )

Sounds about right. . . but you could do without the whisper tracks, just make sure to hard-pan the breathy vox, and add the octave-lower vox like chess suggested.

Boost air to taste, de-ess as needed. Keep the octave bassy and panned center.
