I wasn't aware that purchasing a license for my software was optional. Gee, that makes life sooooooooooo much easier.

no one at homerecording steals, takes advantage of, or cheats any system, in any way shape or form. straight-edge!

totally just got the 5th season of the sopranos though.

Nakatira you suck monkey balls. Big mouthfuls of monkeys balls. How does it feel you tosser, to suck big monkey balls? Enjoy them do you....the big monkey balls. I bet you do, i bet you fucking love it, those big monkey balls. Eh? what do you say? Say you love them! Go on, say it! You love big monkey balls. You gargle them, you swirl them round your fat mouth, those big monkey balls. Mmmmmm, dont ya just love them, dont they taste good? Oh how you love BIG MONKEY BALLS. Oh yeah those big monkey balls, what a way to roll.

brevity, you are a thief. Using cracked or pirated software is illegal, and unethical under any circumstance.

I don't give a shit what your situation is, rich or poor, or what your intention is for making profit, or none, from music. It is not justifiable and your weak attempt at situational ethics only exposes you for the bottom-feeder that you are.

I also don't care if our criticisms make you want to save up the money for a legal copy, because it's obvious to me that you won't.

I just want you to understand that you will get no help from this message board, and no sympathy.

So you may as well haul ass and get your advice from whoever you can find that is as ethically challenged as you.

See ya!

Wait, don't tell me......just quit breathing. All will be cool............

Actually I've been thinking about it, and I'm currently saving up to buy software for recording. I figure I've used it enough so I might as well get a legit copy.

EDIT: So now the question... I've really really wanted to try pro-tools, but haven't really had the chance. Is it worth the money to get a decent hardware interface to use for it? How's the Mbox? Digi-02?

Thank ya.

I don't know how much recording experience you have but pay $75 and get the 24-bit version of n-Track. It's easy to use and not expensive. I've been using it for 4 years and it's never failed. Flavio is the man!!!!

P.S. I don't own Cubase or know much about it. I just enjoy reading the heated debates on this forum :D

I agree. N-Track is a solid workhorse. Been using it for 5 years. ;)

All I'm saying is that if I had the money to pay for the software, I would. Since I don't, I haven't YET. I guess it may be wrong for a carpenter to borrow a hammer since it isn't his, but eventually he'll get his own and be appreciative of the loaner. In the meantime he can build a house with the borrowed hammer :). By the same token, since the hammer he built the house with is borrowed... does that make his experience or house any less valid?

The point is, I'm not a malicious software cracker here. C'mon y'all, lighten up. Apparently we have differing views, and that's fine, but can we at least talk music and help one another out? I'm not asking anyone to go against what they feel is right or wrong in giving me advice on a piece of software. I just want to talk shop and help people with their issues, and find help with mine. If we can't agree to do that then I guess I'll go elsewhere, but I was pretty psyched up to see such a responsive forum.

Thanks,
Scott
There's always an honest way. Check out Kristal Audio. It works, is stable and is genuinely free, just for people not making money from it. I've moved on now, but used it for a year or so. A little research will usually find what you need without ripping anybody off. It just takes more effort.

I am a member of cubase.net whose moderators regularly lock posts where the posts are not by registered owners of the software, and ban the offenders forthwith. If the moderators of homerecording.com are as concerned about the use of illegitimate sofware as the members appear to be, why aren't the same sanctions taken?

Exactly, this forum on homerecording doesn't get any legs because everyone who posts questions in here is a fraud. Close this forum down or better yet, just make it a redirect to cubase.net.
