Hey m8s, thats my first shot in here so i really like to begin with the right foot, by asking you guys something that really matters to me right now, so i know this way i can make friends here, cuz when my help be required by anyone, i'll be there at my best, so thanx in advance =)

My question as the tittle says is this: I'm receiving this week some equipment for my first studio and i'd like to know about some ways of hooking up the whole thing, so i can find the best.

The eqpmt i'm working with is the PROFIRE 2626, the DIGIMAX D8, and the DBX 166 XL,

So, let the games begin. Who gives me the best way?

Seriously now m8s, counting on you guys, maybe someone in here have an equal gear or something like this and would like to help me.

Cheers to everyone and i'm really glad to part of this.

I'm no expert, but looking at the specs, the Digimax is redundant when you have the Profire. The DBX would go into the f/x loop of your recording system

You'll need to specify your other equipment: DAW, software, mics, monitors, etc.

In what way would it be redundant!?
Hook it up to the Profire via ADAT and you instantly have another 8 high quality inputs with preamps. That's what the D8 is intended for - its not an interface and can't be directly connected to a computer.

EDIT: you'll have the slight problem that the Profire requires a breakout cable to get the BNC word-clock connector (and I'm not sure if this is included with it). The D8 doesn't have an ADAT input which it can sync to, so the easiest way of hooking it up would probably be to slave the Profire to the D8 over ADAT.

Hmmm, i see, i didn't specified the rest of the stuff cuz my doubt it really is about signal path, comming from the instrument, the rout seem pretty logic to me, but with this pieces of equipment im kinda crawling about what should come before what, and you guys are REALLY helping, believe me, very apreciatte it. ol
