I realize this is a very general question but hope someone may have answers.
We are a blues band with guitar, drums, harp, bass, and vocals.
We want to record 4 tracks at the same time to capture a "live" feeling. We're putting the guitar into one track, the harp into the 2nd track, the vocals (mixed on a board) into the 3rd track, and the drums and bass (again mixed on a board) into track 4.
Question #1: SHould the dbx be set "on" or "off" during recording?
Question #2: When we mix down to 2-track recorder, should the dbx be set "on" or "off"?
Any other tips for a great recording would be much appreciated.
Thanks to all who reply.
