Hey guys...I wanna know how many of you use programed drums for rock music. And those of you who do...do you use them just for the ideas, demos or maybe all the way???
I like both. I know Vox does the same thing I do when using a machine, a drum machine but real cymbals as they usually are the weak link there. One of my tunes, "Back At You", is a DR-770 drum machine with real cymbals played in.
yeah fair enough...the ease is the thing, but I just don't know...I'm in posession of some good drum machines and midi instruments, but they are alowed to go only as far as ideas and maybe demos...but thats it....But since I've read some of your comments maybe I'm gonna start believing in them as well....thanx for the response guys..I really wanted to know wat ppl think...
Even though I am a "real" drummer with a kick ass double bass Tama set, I still only use my sound modules and samples for all my sequencing/recording. Currently I'm using sounds/samples from Roland TD-8, XV-3080 and samples with GigaStudio. I do strictly rock, and I'm quite happy with the results. The samples I use in GigaStudio and from the XV-3080 blur the line between real and virtual.
And YES sound modules/samplers can be/ARE used for demos and professionally mastered cds.
