Powermac G5?

It's a dual 1.8ghz (powermac CPU, not Intel), 512mb ram..

a friend of mine is selling it after having used it for 2yrs, doing only audio/video work on it. he's a friend of mine and i want to give him a good price, without ripping him off.

i've tried searching around and haven't really found anything conclusive.

i've offered him $1200 for it. bare in mind i'm in Switzerland and electronics are way more pricey than the states. he paid about $3000 for it new, so it would be less than half price the original value...

so, am i paying too much? or should i just take my $1200 budget and build a higher spec PC?

Yeah that sounds like a horrible price, but then again I'm in the states. I would pay no more than $600 for that, and even thats a high asking price. Tech is booming and doesn't hold value, I'd build my own.
