How much money would you expect if...

How much percentage would you expect if someone asked to license 4 of your songs for one year, for a compilation disc that would include three other artists?

Assume that the compilation is going to sell 10,000- 25,000 copies in that year and the wholesale price is $7

Someone suggested 5% per act for a total of 20% paid out to artists.

As an artist, would you expect more? Less?

On my level 10% seem to be standard. This goes for smaller indie-labels, and editions of 500-1000 records, mind
Although when it comes to samplers, in most cases I've been approaced with nothing but the honor to attend so to speak. But, I wouldn't know how things go in the grander scheme of things.

I would, however, demand a little more for something as big as that deal. Only because someone else would be making a whole lot more money on me, than I would.
