I use an Echo Layla 24/96. How much have converters improved in interfaces since that era? Am I missing something?

Well judging from reviews I've found it came out in late 2000/early 2001 ?
Based on that, I wouldn't particularly say that converters have seen MASSIVE improvements, they've just become a lot cheaper so it means prosumer gear has much better converters than they did 8 or 9 years ago.
