How many use pro tools

I was wondering how many people actually have a TDM or HD system? It's pretty expensive and I am curious how present it is in the home recording field. Thanks
 
There are a handfull of users here. A lot of pro studios use it...its kind of a trademark thing.
Its also a pretty stinky issue round this BBS.
I dont use it and probably never will. There are too many choices out there now that are just as good if not better !!
Now if your a MAC user, pro-tools works well
 
i dont use pro tools... way too expensive and you can get just as much out of far less expensive gear.

Now... if I had $500,000 to spend on building the studio of my dreams, my B room would be all top end ProTools gear. :)

I use Pro Tools...


Pro Tools LE, that is... on a digi001.


Quite frankly, it's no more expensive than many of the other "cheaper" home-recording solutions.. You don't have to go TDM or HD just to get into a PT setup... and it works well for me... I have my gripes, but I had my gripes about what I was using previous to this.

I know you wanted to know how many people use the non le pro tools, but I think that there are very few people who can afford that in a home setup.

But I have to say that I think PTLE is a great home setup. Most of the people that use it absolutely love, and I don't think you can discount that kind of thing.
 
Yea, I was just curious if HD or TDM was in anyone's home studio, that's all. I get to play around with it every now and then and I was just curious.
 
Yeah... I only use PTLE just like most people around here. Its just way too expensive. So maybe they should drop the price of tdm and hd to about $100. over a LE.....

I think the price of used TDM systems are getting down to the point that some people who post here will be acquiring these systems. Just a guess.
 
It'd be nice to hear from anyone looking for a used TDM system. I've thought about that possibility, maybe in the future.

well they should least drop the price of the core system... $4000+ for the minimum PCI card and software is car-razy!!
