How many inputs do i need on sound card?

I'm trying to figure out wether I should get a card with 4 inputs or with 8. I have a 4 buss mixer. It has 4 subs out, six Aux sends, 16 ch. inserts. What should I use to go out to the card. This will help me determine how many inputs on the card is best

get the one with 8 ins.
you can use your 6 aux sends and a subgroup to get 8 independent channels off that mixer. And you'll get annoyed trying to track a drumkit with only 4 ins...
