Wrong on both counts. How can you only need one ? Just the existence of electric and acoustic guitars kills that one stone dead. But I also disagree that we're all afflicted with the "wanting, getting, having.....wasting" disease.

Same here. I have a six string {Ozark}, a 12 string {a Yamaha ~ both of these were bought for me, both electro acoustics}, an electric 6 string {a Peavey Reactor}, a 5 string bass {a Wesley} and a 4 string electro acoustic bass guitar. I neither need nor want more, guitar wise. Each one has it's own tonal flavour. One would never do !
