How many channels do I need in a mixer if I'm running a sequenced into a MPC with the MPC going into a mixer with a audio card with 2 ins and 2 outs?

Can you try that explanation again? Sounded like some sort of limerick or other freefrom poetry.

I got the part that you have Sequencer...

What I'm trying to say is how many input channels do I need on a mixer to accept all of the output channels of the mpc . .....I was looking at something like the Behringer MX602A or MX802A mixer, these are 6 channel and 8 channel mixers

Now I think I get it. Sorry bout that. how many outs does the MPC have? What kind is it? If you are going to record to a PC, it would sure be nice to have control over each track once on there. If you go into a 6 channel mizer for example and take the stereo outs into a PC card, then now all you have is a single track. No more mixing possibilities as far as individual levels. Does the MPC have any optical outs?

If you have 8 output card installed in the mpc then you need atleast a 8 channel mixer,I'd recommend along with the mixer get a sound card/breakout box with 8in/8out that way you atleast have total control over 8 tracks.I believe it's got spdif connections on that card also.

Seems like a lot of people here have issues with Behringer.

As for me, the only issue I have with my 2004 is that tracks sometimes bleed into the control room output even when they're basically shut off. For instance, the 2-Tk input can be heard faintly in the control room output even when it's not selected to go to ctl room.

Unfortunately it's very hard to justify stepping up to the equivalent Mackie, which is almost twice the price. :(
