how far does adat over lightpipe travel?

anyone know? a friend clued me into a nifty device with which you can extend your usb devices up to 100 feet using cat5 cable and vga will travel that far as well so the last thing i need to extend to put my whole rig two floors up from where i record is and extension from the preamps to the card. long story short, anyone know how far adat can travel over lightpipe?

No more than 50 ft using the plastic-based fibre optic cable....

Much longer using the expensive glass fibre with an amplifying junction......
