Right now I have barely any monitoring system for my studio. I am running a couple Firepods and a headphone amplifier.
Right now, I have to let the audio run through the Firepod(s), then into the program, then back out to the headphone amp. All happens through the FirePod. This causes lag and really is not desireable. Even the smallest amount of lag (<15ms) sucks and probably requires some processing power from the PC that should be geared towards actually recording. Lags even more when recording at 48kHZ or 96kHZ.
What could I do to create a better live monitoring system? Especially for drummers and vocalists?
