Hello everyone!

Trying out some gear I just got..

Here is a clip: a Peavey ntb-5 bass with humbuckers, all controls maxed.

-first straight DI
-than switching through my future pedalboard. DI. (preamp and a stompbox)

switching back and forth a couple of times then messing with distortion-->clean through pedalboard-->straight to tracker--through pedalboard.end.

I was thinking I'd use the pedalboard to effects loop-in of my head and cabs, and if need be, straight to mixer-PA on gigs...

Sure sounds fatter to me..
How's that to you????

the clean sounds a little muddy to me, the distortion sounds fine.

Yeah im not a fan of the clean...very muddy in my opinion...too much mid for my taste. THe distortion sounds prettty cool..almost kinda nine inch nails-ish?

Duh!!...

Allrighty, the clip is totally unprocessed from the tracker. The pedal board consists a MesaBoogie v-twin and a BBE sonic stomp, which I thought would remove the mud, obviously it didn't...

So, I'll be ordering the EQ-pedal afterall to remove some of the mud. Boss GEB-7 or EH Tube EQ, whadda ya think????...

Any comments on "which should be after which" regarding the pedals and v-twin preamp when playing A: live straight to the mixer, and B: Live using only the poweramp and cabs of my rig????????

..On reviews of Sonic stomp, they tell you to put it to FX-loop, last before poweramp. But the output of the v-twin seems to get distorted in sonicstomp, if the v-twins "master" is over halfway...

If you are going DI it could be that you have your gain on your preamp set too hot.
back off the gain and see if that helps.
