im a total newb, but this was my idea for what i would like to get. suggestions would be much appreciated.

delta 10/10
dpm3 pre's(i realize i might need more than one kind, suggestions?)
n-track
shure ksm-32(maybe a tlm-103? is it alot better?)
shure pg-52
multiple sm-57/58's
i dont know what for overheads, i hear sm81's, but i also heard that the tlm 103's could sound better for overheads in which case i might get that since it could do double duty)

does this sound decent at all? i am totaly open to suggestions. i would rather get them now then after i spend alot of money. this is just sort of what ive thought i might go for based on hanging around here for a little while. thanks alot.

It looks like you are mic'ing drums, right?

The SM 57 is always a good bet. For drums it's better than the SM 58, but that'll work too.

Don't waste your money on a PG52,
if you're looking to save money on a kick mic, go with an AT Pro 25.
For a few more dollars you can pick up an ATM25 for $139 at 8th Street. There are others too.

A friend of mine has the DMP3 and it is an awesome pre amp at the price. Don't let the guys at GC talk you into a Prosonus Blue Tube or one of the little Behringer pres (not good)

For overheads, consider the Oktava MC012's (they're cheap enough and they work) or a pair of the Marshalls SDC's or for a few dollars more, the SP C4's

I'm not familiar with the other units you have listed, so I can't say anything.

hmm

i was more referring to basically the whole set up. yeah, i just put the pg52 cus i think i allready have one easily available. but if it doesnt sound good ill definately buy something better. the sm 57/58's were also because i allready have a whole bunch of those. thanks for the advice!
