Thourght this may be a useful thread for not only myself but a few people who want to delve into acoustic treatment.
Its well enough knowing about bass traps, diffusers etc. How different matrials absorp different frequencies and by how much.
But how does one go about making the most out of their treatment?
Taking into acount that many of us (including myself) neither have the best mixing position nor the best room for mixing, and alot of us do both recording and mixing in the same space.
What can we/I do to make the most of the treatment we can use? My own situation is that my mixing position is alot better than what it used to be, although no where near perfect. I now have some new KRK rp6 g2's opposed to my old Fostex PM 0.4's which have made a HUGE difference.
I want to keep my treatment minimal, as my studio is not only a work space but a personal space.
How can I/we go about finding the problem areas in our own rooms?
Then knowing how to treat those areas? and knowing how to make the most ot of limeted recourses?
