Ok, I am running a Sound Forge AM Plugin with Sonar on a string track. I'm having trouble selecting the right modulation frequency for my track which is cruising at 130 BPM. I fiqure there has got to be a formula for syncing the AM frequency to BPMs. Is there anyone who knows the equation?

sonmeone somewhere knows where there are some freeware music calculators ...

SPIT IT OUT!!!
I need em too :)
If I find one Ill let you know

Do a google search for "WizCalc" - let me know if you can't find it.

or, in this case you could just say to yourself, uh, 130 BPM, if we divide by 60 we could get BPSecond, then we
could just, um, multiply THAT # by the # of repeats we want per BEAT, and that would be the AM frequency -

To add to that:

Many people need to convert between BPM and milliseconds in order to set delay times, etc. The formula is 60,000 ÷ BPM = milliseconds per beat. For example 90 BPM would be 60,000 ÷ 90 = 666.67 milliseconds per beat. Obviously if you want eighth notes or triplets you would divide that figure accordingly (333.33 ms per eighth note, 222.22 ms for an eighth note triplet, 2666.67 ms for a whole note, etc.)

And the Squaw on the Hippopotamus is = to the sum of the squaws on the other two hides... :=)

GREAT!!!!!!

and they ask why I'd wanna hang around homerecording.com!!!!!

thanks a ton...

now, if we could get sonic foundry's gapper/snipper to work in tempo units life would be GRAND!

"life would be GRAND!" -

Nah, I want a CAD program that outputs the actual BUILDING, not just some paper to drool on... :=)

Oh, and the land to set it on...

Oh, and the gear to put in it...

Oh, and...

I don't understand why that is not universal yet. It is such a simple calculation for a computer to do and considering 95% of all audio production is music based you would think using note values would be a given.

I had a friend who is a VB programmer help me write a really slick tempo, sample, bpm, delay calculator that did everything. Unfortunately he nuked his computer before he gave me a compiled version of it and we never got around to rewriting it.

I only come here to look at Speeddemon's avatars...

woohoo!

thanks littledog

I made the gapper snipper comment because there doesnt seem to be any "gated flange" ala Bill Metoyer: Slayer: Show No mercy plugin fx out there. The Boss SE-50 could do it, but so far the only way I can come close native is to use a flanger followed by SF gapper/Snipper or SF Amplitude modulation

a calc program would be perfect here
