How do you read AKAI sample discs on a PC???

Could anyone help me to understand if it is possible to read an AKAI format sample CD on a computer?

I know they use a different format, but I heard it can be done...

THANKS!!!

You'll need a software converter.

I know there are a few but the only one I know is a program called "Awave.

Do a search on the web for it. It's cheap and effective.

BATTERY will read akai s1000 format....which means it will load those samples and mappings...i was gonna actually try to do this but the disk i want to use is s3000....darn.

i think the emagic sampler will also read akai...as well as some others like bitheadz unity.

Gigasampler from NemeSys is able to read and convert Akai S1000 & 3000 files into .GIG files ready to use.

Also there is a program caller CDXtractor - it work similar to AWave - surf the net, you'll find it

more software handeling AKAI...

.. the new softsampler from Steinberg HALion and
another is the Sampletank wich has a converter (AKAI -> Wave)
