Well, i think the title is self explanatory. How do you make electric drum pads? Also, for example... I'm not sure if I got the concept right... but you need a certain machine with the drum pads? For the machine (dunno wut its called) I think the Alesis DM5 is cool, i looked it up.

I made a set a while back and they still work today. My full drum set minus the brain costs about 150 bucks and that was including buying a highhat stand and kick drum pedal.

Here's everything you need to know.

Homemade Drum pads/triggers

can you use a 1/4 inch plug instead on an rca plug?

Yes. You'll just have to mount it differently. With the RCA it could come straight out the bottom of the pad. If you use a 1/4" plug, you'll need to mount it sideways (preferably aiming out the side of the pad that will be away from you).

I used 1/4 inch plastic jacks on the end of a 2" pigtail that leads from the head. Just tied a knot in the wire so it wouldn't pull through the head and the jacks clamped down on the wires so they won't pull out of the plug and become unsoldered.

and wait... ad you can hook up 5 pads to oen module and have each of em sound different?

You can also make the brain, if you wanted... About $100-$150...
Gotta be electronically inclined though.
The homemade brain is just a controller, no sound module,
But it'd allow 15 input triggers... and a pedal.

You have a schematic?...or link to one?

Well, you'd have to have a sampler, or a MIDI sound module.
I (if I actually made one of these) would use my computer, and Halion...
Loaded with the new NS_Kit7 release from naturalstudios.
