I recently purchased PG Music's Power Tracks Pro Audio Version 8. My question is; after you record the first guitar track, how do you hear it so you can record the second guitar track? I am looking through the manual but I don't see how to do it.
I want to be able to record another guitar track while listening to the first track so the timing and feeling are right. I can't imagine that there's no way to do this, I just can't figure out how.
Thanks for the help - Ron.

Yo Attractor of Termites:

You want to overdub. Does your manual cover overdubbing? It should.

With a Yam MD box, the recorded track or two tracks have to be put into the CUE mode or things will get all messed up.

I'm not familiar with your gear; however, overdubbing is overdubbing. Like you might lay down some rhythm and chords on two tracks then YOU WANT TO HEAR THEM TO ADD a solo.

If your manual doesn't cover overdubbing, YEOW. Maybe you can get the company on line and ask a techie?

Someone here will know how I'm sure.

First be sure you have FullDuplex set for your sound card in Power Tracks:

1. Options Menu
2. Preferences
3. Audio tab
4. Select Full Duplex

Then you hear track 1 while recording track 2.

In addition to what Ed said, your soundcard may not be full-duplex. If that is the case then you will need to get a new soundcard.

I had that exact same problem when I first started recording and it turned out that my soundcard was half-duplex, so I had to get a new card (a Turtle Beach Montego).

Good luck,

when you go to record the new track, make sure it is set to "overdub" and not just simply record.
