i'm a newbie trying to learn, how does lightpipe to firewire work, is it a simple conversion??

also i'm planning to do what the starter of this thread was going to do.

I already have a yamaha mg24/14 mixing desk but no interface yet.

is the delta 1010 the cheapest option wihout preamps and at least 8 ins?

I use an echo audiofire 12, 12in 12 out with great AD/DA conversion and it is expandible. To my ears the conversion sounds just as good as my Apogee Rosetta.

The motu does that conversion for you.
