i do a lot of mixes on my computer and vica versa but i dunno how to make an lp :|

Well it is a bit of a manufcturing process, you need to etch the opposite of your indended album on a metal die. This is then pressed into melty vinyl to stamp out the lp. Very simplified but you get the idea. not really somthing you can do yourself without a fair bit of equipment.

Maybe I'm wrong but...

Methinks MP3 isn't good enough quality to burn to CD (or whatever) to be pressed. Prolly need to mixdown to CD and send that off to be mastered and then pressed. Well, you can skip (or do) the mastering (yourself) if you wanna, I suppose... That's a whole 'nother thread, though.

F.D.

be careful that the company you choose uses a quality lacquer otherwise DJs won't be able to scratch on your stuff because the album will get banged up easily.

That Vestax Vinyl Maker

Who wants to GO IN on one of them ?
I got 5 on it..... lol

Yo Skillz,

since you're in the UK, check pressing plants in Poland. CHEEEEEP and you can get some decent wax from there. If I can find an old invoice, I'll post the name of a company I used to use alot when I lived in Germany.

Yup, with my five Spinster's and Weltyone's that's 15 USD down, 9,985 to go. My only Stipulation on my five is that I get the machine on Wedensdays and every 5th weekend in February. Take ye heed of the warnings against weak lacquer. I've had a couple of vinyl's that sounded like DJ Screw got ahold of them after downing 3 40's of 45 -- this after only a few hundred spins--and I don't even SCRATCH! (Ok so maybe I do rewind a section by hand 10^3 times, but that's not real wear and tear in my book!)
