just a hint I can go from there.I'm just an old country boy that knows nothing but my band has recorded and I want it on my own label

If I went through the trouble of getting the net, typing and taking the time to read the shit you wrote shurly I would have a name

Here it is step by step:

1: Get a name (check)
2: Business Lic.
3: Get incorporated LLC (this looks more professional)
4: Get some CDs to sell (check your bands)
5: Get some of those displays and put your stuff forsale in mom and pop
stores and gas stations.
6: Hook up with a merchandising company to distribute your CDs
7: You now have a record label
8: Enjoy all of the money

Before you do that...

...re-mortgage your house and be prepared to lose all of the capital you invest. If you're not prepared to take that risk, then don't bother.

A business name is free you just come up with it. You need to call you local county/city office about the business lic price should be between $40-100 or so. Might be more it you live in a large city. You can get incorperated online for around $125.00.

I've ran a record label for 3 years and know two other independant labels here in the UK that have put out much more than your 500 copy release from a local band.

If you have a serious reason for doing this other than just to "have a record label" drop me an email I can offer any advice that i can.
