How do I save for upload?

I just did an 8 track "song" in Ntrack.
I mixed it down to 2 mono tracks.
Saved it again as a wav file but windows media player tells me "improper format" when I try to play it as a wav.
Utimately I want to be able to upload it as a wav or Mp3 so somebody else can use it.
What do I need to do?

you need to mixdown to one stereo track and when you do this it will give you an option to rip it to mp3 right away also.
