Hello. I know a good amount about recording music and playing instruments, but i dont understand how everything works. I usually record some cover songs for the heck of it when im bored. Well anyways to get to my question. I'm pretty sure a lot of people or newbies like me have this question. I know a lot of experts have the answer. Well when you first turn up a speaker and you put up the volume theres that sort of distortion sound. I don't know what to call it or what it is actually called. But on a cover i did with my sister. Me playing all the instruments. This was just a quick cover. But you can hear it every time its quiet and in the beginning before i start playing you can hear it too. Unfortunately yes it is one of Justin Biebers songs but here you go and does anyone know how to fix this. And yes i know when my sister goes pretty loud it also distorts. When this was recorded i didnt know anything about that but now i do. Oh and my interface is the Multimix 8 usb and i use Cubase LE 5

(it wont let me post the link im new to this forum. Go to soundcloud dot com and search diego14br then it says justin bieber - pray (nicolles cover) make sure its not the one that says diego cuz thats something i did before recording my sister and doing the actual cover) thank you for your time and help

It's a mixture of 'hum' and 'noise' which is probably being made in your multimix, or microphone whatever that is.

The way to check is to start with everything plugged in, and listen to the microphone channel on cubase. Then mute the channel and unplug the mic. Unmute and listen again, if it's gone, then it's the mic that's making the noise.
If it's still there, repeat with the mic cable. If it's STILL there, then it's your multimix interface.

If it's not there at any point, do the same test with the keyboard plugged in.

Hopefullly, that should help you locate the source of the problem
