i am currently using adobe audition to record stuff i have a beat and everything but i cant figure out how to have it playing in the background or something so i can hear the beat while i spit my lyrics onto the track can anyone help?

now now beatmakers... maybe the cat doesnt have a sound card with multiple ins/outs. that could mean monitoring and then recording a separate track is not possible.
if you do not have a way to set a program to use a specific output from your recording program/control panel, it may not be possible to record your voice separately. you could record it while the beat is playing (when using headphones), but you wont be able to change the levels of each track because it will be recorded as one.

yeah i figured that much out on my own i just need to know if theres some way i can get the beat to play at the same time i start recording like is there some sort of playrecord button somewhere? otherwise my lyrics just come up off beat and everything

how do you make a beat to begin with maybe that will help

I assume conquest isn't using a Multitrack recorder like Cool Edit or Nuendo...

Let's start there... what are you trying to use for recording purposes?

he mentioned adobe audition, but I've never used it.....

im using adobe audition...yes it has multitrack...but im new to using these type of programs so i have not much idea on how to record onto a beat, is there like a play/record button that i hit to record at the same time the beat starts playing?

good you know it has multitrack some ima assume you got your beat on one of those tracks somehow
so activate a blank track prolly have to set to audio

i just did a search and found out this Adobe product used to be Cool Edit Pro

Maybe the folks at the cool edit forum can offer more help
