how do i record mono vocals in cool edit ?

i went to the recording properties but all i seen is stereo left channel and right channel
 
choose either the right or left channel as your input. How many inputs does your card have? if it is just one stereo input, then you are able to record the same signal to the right and left channel with just the one input. If you choose the left or the right, you will get your vocals straight down the middle.
