how do i record from my mixer to my computer? newbie help plz :)

my comp:

1.2 GHz Athlon
256 MB RAM
about 22GB free hdd space
SB Live Sound Card
Ti 4400 Geforce4 Video Card
yamaha 8x4x24x scsi cdrw

my stuff:

2 x vestax pdx 2000
2 x krk v8 studio monitors
vestax pmc 05 proD mixer

thats it. what programs, cables, everything do i need to be able to record a .wav file from my mixer to my computer? is that even possible? thanks for the help.

the output form your mixer should go to your input on your sound card

I was using a Y cable(1/8 to rca) to get sound from my mixer to my sound card

that is probably the same thing you need

then get a program like cool edit or soundforge(any wave editor)
to record your sound

if you do this and still don't get sound
adjust your windows mixer thing to allow you to record from the line input
