How do I record audio?

Hi,
I need some advice on setting up my pc to record audio. Hope someone can help.
I already use it to record midi stuff through a usb interface now what do i need to do audio?
I have live sound equipment including mics and a powered mixer(dynacord powermate1600)(and speakers). And on the pc I have Cakewalk pro audio 9 and Logic audio platinum 5.10 with windows xp.
The thing is how do i connect the desk to the pc? if i even need to. Do i need an audio interface? Do i need a specialist sound card?
Its all a bit of a mystery at the minute, Please someone help! Cheers
