Hello all, I get only grey File names when trying to open a Project in Cubase 5.1.1-how can I correct this?

Do you mean when you go File>Open or at some other point?

Can you post a screen shot?

Grey File Names

Thanks nik for the reply. It was happening in the Open/Project dialog but today the ,cprs are black and able to open. I have another problem if you might like to help with that. I wanted to add some string Background but can't get the strings to open-I do have a screen shot of that.

The content seems to be lost, or corrupted, I am too new to Cubase to find these, I will get better at it with some help.

I'm afraid I'm a lowly PC user so not sure what the grey files mean. Perhaps the folders it is looking for have been moved or deleted? I'm clutching at straws a bit but I'm sure someone else will know the answer

Mac with Cubase 5 song.cpr's grey

HI again Nick, and many thanks for helping. Cubase was designed for windows and the Mac version has troublesome issues-the installer wizard put HALion One in the system prefs, and its' content in a Logic folder! I have never heard of hidden files on a Mac but they see to be part of Windows so I still hope to recover the string content audio files hidden somewhere in this Mac.
Apple gave us a new feature in the last version of the OS called spotlight-it can search for files but it won't search the system for a missing file[DOH!] Macs don't always work as well as the fanatics claim. I know of several dj's who use a PC and a Mac hooked up together for more power, speed, and memory. The grey files are a feature I assume-one may choose in that box to show 'alll files', or only Logic files or only.cpr files. Have you ever heard of dragging a .cpr file and dropping it into the Arrange window, or on the program list on the name Cubase?
Maybe I should ask a Moderator to move this to a thread where putting Mac in the header would attract Mac users to reply although I do appreciate your efforts,it keeps me searching and that's the way to find answers.
