are there tricks to monitor myself if I'm playing and recording drums? I'll have 4-5 mics to deal with through separate channels and I'm pretty much on my own. should I mostly just rely on mixdown/eq?
Just record a piece, listen to it and make your mic position adjustments and try again, I think it's better to save the major eq decisions until mixdown anyway.
