hello all i am recording using cep i have a behringer mixer, audio tecnica mbc4000 mic, i am having a problem when recording vocals i need to make my beat longer but i don't know how to stretch it longer. i don;t want to copy and paste cause it's not just a loop is therea way i can stretch the time of my track?

I don't think Cool Edit can do that. I think you're looking for something like Acid.

In SoundForge you can select a sound and make it fill an exact amount of time (e.g. take my 23second clip and stretch it to 24.5 seconds).

If that's what you're trying to do... (and you need an audio editor anyway)

In CEP, you can use the Stretch under Effects.

Whyte Ice is talking about CEP 2.0. It's in Edit View, then click time/pitch.

Okay, so what happens if you stretch a track? Does it do a kind of mp3 kind of operation on the file, so that you've actually got fewer bits of information per second of track?
