How do I know if I can sing well?

I know the policy but I just dont recall being required to give my home address at the sign up.

I just signed up for a new account at angelfire and the only required fields are:
First name*
Last Name*
E-mail address*
Country*
Zip Code*


Thats it......home address is not required.Home address is listed but it's NOT required in red.The info I listed above is all that is required to activate the account.

It's the law, unfortuneatly, that if you host content on the internet, you (the host), are responsible for the content, unless you can prove the identity of the content poster. Therefor, nearly every hosting company in North America, and most of the UK, requires this information to legally protect themselves. If they don't collect the information, then they themselves are at great legal risk.

It's mostly a matter of trust. If you don't trust me enough to tell me who you are, then I won't trust you enough to post material on my servers that may put me in legal hot water.

That pretty much sums it up.I think anything further on the subject should probably be posted in your forums.I'll post there if I have any more questions or thoughts.

Lycos has actually been sued a good 15-20 times in the last year for infringements, but as you know, they've got a rather huge budget, and were barely dented by any of the precedings...

If I were to be sued, that's it, everything is gone, I've got nothing to fight with, and everything to lose.

(P.S., when signing up for Lycos, you also hand over publishing rights to them for anything you upload, including Mp3's. If they choose to take that Mp3, put it on a compilation, and sell it, they owe you no royalties at all)

Hey guys, I was away for the weekend. I see that Waldo asked for my address and phone number and stuff. When I filled out those forms, I just put an "X" in the line. I get bombarded with enough junk over the internet, I certainly dont want that type of stuff coming to my house, or calling my phone. I appreciate Waldo hosting a site where we can put our music up for free, but I dont want to give out my private information over the net. I guess I'll just have to find another way.

I think I got enough feedback on my voice to give me the confidence I need to try to sing in this band. Anyways, great site! Thanks again. I'll post some original stuff when I finish it.
