How do I integrate a subwoofer into the studio?

I have a two Yamaha HS8's and a B-52 Matrix 1000 Subwoofer. My question is, will these work together work (without frying anything!)? By looking on the back of the B-52 I see some options like "through" for the input. Could I safely connect the input from my interface (Motu 896mk3) to the B-52 "through" to the output of the HS-8s? Is this at all possible? Or is there any other options to engage the B-52 into my system? Thank you!!!

I think that it should work fine. The through outputs look like they're designed for exactly that. I don't see a variable crossover frequency though, and I don't see an option to cut low frequencies going to the monitors out of the "through" outputs. Start with the gains set all of the way down, until you figure out how strong of a signal it's going to send through.

Subs are fun, but they really screw up low end frequency response in a small room. By all means, give it a try and have fun thumping and bumping. But when it comes time to mix, you'll almost certainly be better off disconnecting it and using the much more reliable low end from your HS8s. They go plenty low for mixing most music. I've got their older brothers, the HS80Ms, and I added the HS8S subwoofer recently. It's nice to have while playing e-drums and keyboards and stuff, but only a well-placed, well-tuned sub in a well-treated room is going to provide an accurate and reliable low end representation.
