How do I get this mix on vocals?

I have two videos from maddi jane and I would like to know how do you get that kind of mix like link 2 on vocals. Everytime, I record our vocal, it always comes out like the link 1. Is there some kind of expensive compressor they used? I tried different kinds of software compressor but none I can get that mix.

The main difference I can see is in the first link the vocals are quite ambient sounding, with quite a bit of room sound coming in, where as the second link, which you say you like, the vocal recording is much drier.

So you could try singing closer to the mic, adding less reverb, treating your room - whatever you need to do to get a drier sound.
