How do I fix this?

When pressing the keys on my casio ctk...and using Reason...with some of the refills or instruments so to speak...I get this annoying initial sound....before I can hear the sound that I was going for.Is this like a general thing or is it just me?When I play legatto...the moment I hit the 2nd key the initial sound will not be there but as soon as I take a short break and not touch any of the keys and press another one...the sound magicaly appears.Is it in any way connected to the "beware a message is sent" initial bit or byte of info that is sent?It's really buggin be.....
If there are any MIDI GURU's out-there...I'd apreciate the help.Even buy you a beer if ever in perth/w.a.

If you're using Reason 3.0x I know it has no ReMote settings for a Casio ctk.

The problem may well be rectified by downloading this and installing it according to the directions.

If that doesn't solve the problem post again - I have some other ideas that may be of help.

hmmm..

Tried your method...doesn't do it for me...I think this is a good healthy sofTware for people with non-pro sound cards...i have an e-mu 1212..so i don't think that an extra asio option in my preferences makes any difference...I have plenty to choose from...Does the fact that Reason 3 doesn't have remote settings for my casio matter so much?Reason sees it as "basic midi keyboard"....Hmmm maybe I should try to explain the problem in more detail... say you want to use the nn-xt module to ceate a bass-line for your composition and you pick a sub-bass (sub freq...deep deep deep sound)....when I press the keys..the initial sound is like a kickdrum and it morphs into the subbass so to speak.That kd sound is what i wanna get rid of...Hope this helps in understandin my problem.

Now that you describe the problem in a little more detail it sounds to me like a programming problem rather than a controller problem.

Bring down the programming menu by clicking on the small triangle and set all the modulation on the NN-XT to zero. Then set the amp envelope attack and hold to zero, then the amp decay to 60 ms, the sustain all the way up and the amp release to 60 ms too and see if what's bothering you goes away.

Also, if you right click in the blue portion of the remote editor screen it will bring up a menu with a ' browse patches' option. Bring one of those up and click on an individual sample and it will show you how it is voiced and parsed.

If this doesn't help post again - you are right that there's no good cause that your Casio shouldn't work as a generic controller for Reason

The adsr is set as you said by default...so is the hold....so that's not it...It sounds like tapping on the mic now that i listen to it distinctively(that kd sound)....Really weird man.dunno what to say.Hmm...I just tried to see if this happens if I use the matrix to trigger the nn-xt..and the answer is yes...so it's not at all related to the keyboard...Hmmm..the plot thickens.I'll keep you updated....
