Hi,

Not sure if I am posting in the right forum here...but...I want to convert all the music I have on cassettes to CD. I have a mixing desk running into my pc for recoding my own music and have this idea that I must be able to somehow get my cassette music onto my hard drive of which I can then burn onto a CD. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanx,

Nassa

Just run a line out-from the cassette player to the line-in on your soundcard and use your recording software.

i find that steinbergs wavelab is a good package for that application

Just a thought. After you get your cassette music into your hard drive, you need to make a stereo track in order to burn your CD.

I run cassettes into my Yam 2816 and then make a stereo track, tweak it, and then SAVE it and then burn the CD.

I think this applies to what you're doing.

?

I use Cubase vst32 to record acoustic g'tar and vox through a mixer and back into the pc. But as for simply transferring music from tape to cd......!

Any other suggestions?

Just imagine your tape to be either your vox or acoustic guitar. By this i mean, connect your tape output to one of the channels on your mixer, feed this into your soundcard and on cubase select an audio track, set it up for stereo and hit record. You will then be left with a wave which you can edit if needs be, save if off and burn to cd.

Should be able to just use a Y-cable with 2 RCA plugs (for the outputs of your tape deck) and one 1/8" stereo plug (to plug into the Line In of your soundcard). Should be good to go...

Yo Nassa:

"On the Golf Course," a Nassau is a bet on the front nine, the back nine and total score.

Usually, 3 dollars, 3 dollars, & 3 dollars -- or any amount one can handle.

I win the front, I win 3 bucks; you win the back, you win 3 bucks; whoever has won the most holes wins the other 3 dollars.

They do play golf in Australia between the salties don't they?

They don't have many golf courses close to the "Italian Village" restaurant!:p

I never played golf until I migrated from Chicago to Michigan. It's a nice game; it is a humbling game.

Golf reminds of of the time I was at the Grand Rapids airport to pick up a ticket and, LO! I looked across the lobby and there was Dave Brubeck [sp] and his sons. They had just performed in Holland, Michigan.

I walked over and can't quite remember what I said except that, "Mr. Brubeck....you have been my jazz idol for a long time..."

He was as gracious as the best apple pie you could ever get. I regret I didn't get an autograph but maybe Mr. Brubeck was gracious because I didn't run up with a pen in my hand and demand one. It was a moment I'll never forget.

So, I play golf with a 21 handicap -- used to be 13:D But, when I learned the game, I tried to believe I had learned the game.
