Hi

Just wondering what the best way of coonecting my Mackie HR-624s and my sub to my mixer?

I want to set everything up so that:

a: I get the correct channels of audio going to the sub and

b: The speakers all cut out when I put headphones into the mixer

The mixer has balanced phono outputs

If I was to make cables up should they be like this:

Left cable out of mixer, then split to go to left monitor and sub
Right cable out of mixer, then split to go to left monitor and sub
Split left and right sub cables joined before sub input, so sub has both left and right channel inputs.

Is there a standard way of doing this?

Thanks!!!

Shaun

You'd probably be much better off using a post-fade aux to feed the sub. Especially if the mixer is basically being used only as a volume control.

This way, you set the aux level at unity, adjust the sub, and then you can unassign to hear only the sub, or boost it for fun.

Many don't like running the sub parallel... I'm not one of them. I only use a sub for a touch of flavor, and only for thunderously low stuff, so using the sub's crossover doesn't interest me.

It takes a little experimentation, but you'll probably like it when you've got it humming. Well... Not humming...

Set up like that, will both the sub and the monitors be muted when I insert the headphone jack?

Cheers!
